Full-Day Tour of the D Day British sector

Pick up at your hotel at 9.00am in Bayeux. Small introduction about D Day.

Drive to Pegasus Bridge, where the whole story started. Your guide will explain you how men of Major Howard came on board of gliders in order to seize and hold the bridges on the Canal at Bénouville and on the river Orne at Ranville. You will then better appreciate the visit of the Pegasus Bridge Museum (entrance fee at your charge).

Visit of the Commonwealth War Cemetery of Ranville, where more than 2000 men are buried, British, but also Canadians, and a lot of different nationalities.

Have a quick and simple lunch (at your charge)

Then during a stop on Sword Beach you will hear about the way the British 3rd Infantry Division supported by Artillery and Engineers was able to establish a beachhead successfully despite high casualties and the way they started progressing inland.

After a drive along the coast, rally the town of Arromanches, sector of Gold Beach, where landed the British 50th Infantry Division. Listen to what happened on D Day and how afterwards a whole artificial harbour was transported from England and assembled here.
