Full-Day Tour of the D Day Canadian Sector

Pick-up at your hotel in Bayeux  at 9.00 am. Small introduction about D Day.

A stop at Bernières sur mer where landed the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. Here your guide will tell you how, though they suffered the highest Canadian casualties, they secured the village and started progressing inland in the afternoon. A stop at Courseulles sur mer where you will be told the story of the company B of Capt. Gower, Royal Winnipeg Rifles of Canada was so badly hit... but fulfilled its mission.

Visit of the Juno Beach Center, an idea of Canadian D Day veterans (Entrance fee at your charge). Quick and simple lunch (at your charge).

Visit the Canadian Cemetery of Bény/Reviers where more than 2000 young Canadians have their final resting place. Then drive the same way the Canadian 9th Brigade moved on June 7, the day after D Day, passed Hell's Corner, all the way to Authie, On the way hear the story of what happened while you are crossing beautiful towns, and picturesque landscapes.

Then a visit of the Abbey d'Ardenne and the Canadian Memorial where you will here about French Resistance and Canadian suffering before heading back to Bayeux.

Drop-off at your hotel around 6.00 pm.
