Short Tour of PEGASUS BRIDGE
One of the very first assaults on D Day was to seize the Canal and Orne bridges north of Caen. Thank to archive pictures and maps I will explain you why this mission was so vital and what happened on June 6 1944. I will also tell about the local resistance.
Then we will go together to Commonwealth War cemetery at Ranville : if you don't have a car, we can walk to, it's a 2 km walk on easy terrain.
Children if they want can take part to the tour by investigating elements hidden around us.
On wednesdays and saturdays in June, July and August 2021, from 2.30pm to 5.00pm
Meeting Point : Car Park rue du Major Howard, Ranville, after the museum to the left.
